Originally from the North East of England. I graduated from The London Contemporary Dance School in 2001. I have enjoyed working as a dancer for a number of choreographers performing in formal theaters, and research projects.
Over many years I traveled around the globe exploring a range of movement techniques from diverse cultures ( old and new). Traveling also supported my research in site responsive dance – as I experimented moving in natural and man made landscapes and social settings. Always returning to London, I shared my performance and film work enjoying delightful collaborations in community driven independent festival and events.
In 2008, rooted myself in the fulfilling mission of Blipcollective. I continue to work on merging tools and creating movement that allow for constant new experiences in dance. CV – Emma James
